O's school

Orion's school is getting better and better. The teacher is a first year teacher and seemed overwhelmed at the beginning of the year, dealing with a brand new school and all sorts of newness. She is totally awesome, and since moving Orion to the 2-day per week, all-day class, Orion LOVES school! The class is smaller and a bit younger on average and is a great fit.

One of the very cool things the school does is document what the children do. This is based roughly on an Emilio Regio approach of constructivist education. Teacher Laurel uploads photos to the class blog daily. (He only goes Tues/Thurs, so the Mon/Wed/Fri posts are of the other preschool class.) On this day, all the kids turned their heads at the camera...

If you click through to see the school, be sure to scroll to the photos of the class visit to the fire station. There is a great shot of O using the fire hose. The link again is http://fg.ed.pacificu.edu/users/stew1982/.
