We went to the beach. We walked up, up, up the sandy dune (with me carrying Soleo because the sand was too loose and the dune too steep for him to walk up) and then down, down, down the other side (Soleo still on my hip!), it started raining a nasty cold rain, pelting us all. Orion has his face to the rain in the picture above.
We lasted about three minutes. Brian said he'd wait in the car. I said the other side of the dune would be more protected. So back we went, up, up, up and then down, down, down.
They thought it was pretty fun, if still windy, cold, and raining.
They set straight to work, digging and playing.
Orion's expression sums it up. Moments after thinking to myself, "this rain is freezing cold", it started to actually hail.
My sweet Oregonian kids were willing to keep playing, but I called it quits at that point. We'd been there almost an hour and we were soaked and nearly frozen, but totally blissed out and rejuvenated by the ocean air and the sand.

And then the glorious Oregon sun came out - AFTER we were finished and changing our clothes. Typical...
