Orion and Soleo started school. Orion's first day was two days prior to Soleo's first day, so we had a couple of "practice runs" before Soleo's first day!
The first week of school was at the rural property! It is called "The Farm" and is absolutely magical. There are no permanent structures out there yet, but they will be breaking ground next fall to move the whole school out there.
The tire swing is the one piece of "playground equipment".
Orion and his buddy Makena. She spent all of 1st grade at the school as well, so she knew the ropes and could teach Orion what he needed to know.
The first day for the grades kids, not including Kindergarten, started with a Water Ceremony. It was a very nice ceremony to honor them starting a new school year. In the picture above, Orion is splashing the water on his face. They are all lined up in order of age, the eldest child in the school gets to start it (after the teachers, of course) and it ends with the youngest. His teacher, Mr. Kris is standing behind him, coaching the new kids on what to expect.
