Last night

While I was packing O's lunch for preschool, I got out some of the lids and such from the "tupperware" shelf for Soleo to play with. He was delighted!

He is confidently sitting up now and can reach out and grab the toys he wants. If he tips over, he can roll front to back to front and scoot and crawl about. When he is on the carpet, he can really get his knees up under him and lurch himself forward with surprising speed and good direction. Every once in awhile he will unintentionally scoot himself backward and we'll find him with his feet and legs tucked under something (like the changing table). He hasn't completely coordinated his knee and hand movements to a traditional crawl, but he's really close! It's time to baby proof the rest of the cupboards and drawers!

Orion came in from playing outside with Pops and showed me the robin egg he found in the grass. He knows I love them!

I was packing strawberries in his lunch and he sampled them for me. I love that his hair has gotten just a bit longer and doesn't look like such a buzz cut anymore! For a time there, he had less hair than Papa!

At last it was time for bed. This is Orion carrying Soleo into their room. Not something that happens with enough leisure to allow me to adjust the camera settings, but Orion is really careful and does an amazingly good job of gently carrying Soleo from one room to another. The first time he did it, it totally terrified me, but didn't faze Soleo in the slightest. What really surprises me is that Orion can very gently set Soleo down into a seated position.
