My mom and dad's sweet donkey Rosie died yesterday and we are all sad.
She was gentle and curious and protective.
She had lived with my parents for 12 years, always coming right up to the fence below their front door, every time someone came to visit. She and Iris would bray in the mornings and to announce someone's arrival.
These pictures are from September 2007, when Orion helped feed the girls.

Alas, poor Rosie, I knew ye not at all. But I loved that your mom had donkeys. An inspiration to us all.
