Halloween Parade

Orion's school had a parade on the day before Halloween.

Orion designed his entire costume, dictating the color of the suit, the way the cape was attached, and the lightening bolt on his chest that was also mirrored on his hood ("the head-thing mama, but without the ears" upon seeing a vintage Batman costume.) And the arm bands. They were a big deal and really fun to make!

When the costume was all done, he said, "Mama!! It's JUST what I wanted! Mama, you're the best!". I melted.

Soleo was a monkey. I've wanted to make a monkey costume since Orion was that size. But Orion vetoed that plan back then, insisting on being Bob the Builder (actually, he insisted on being Wendy, Bob's sidekick. That took some negotiating.)

So I took the opportunity to make the costume while Soleo was still too little to argue.
